Installation

Old Keypad Removal

  • Turn power off on all batteries before disconnecting or connecting a keypad.
  • Remove old keypad. Do not pry from the front. The keypad is held with nuts on studs from the rear. Use a 3/8” socket to unscrew the nuts from the studs on the keypad. If your hatch access is under the steering wheel, you can usually reach up enough to access all the nuts. This saves time as you do not need to disassemble any part of the helm.

  • If installing on port side, disconnect port, starboard and emergency toggle switch wires. Take a picture to keep track of where they were originally plugged in.

  • Disconnect connector. Push tab down to disengage the locking mechanism on the connector. Pull away from the keypad.

New Keypad Installation

  • Install new keypad into helm.
  • If installing on port side, install rocker switches and re-connect wires.

  • Connect communication connector.
  • Tighten nuts onto studs finger tight. Do NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
  • Turn power back on.
  • On power up, all LED indicators followed by the backlight should turn on for 1 second.
  • Test all functions and buttons.
